Just a short post to say I haven't vanished, however I haven't had Internet access for over a week now. This is no thanks to Sky and their appalling customer service, so instead I treated myself to an iPhone today! I did wonder how long I would resist once I moved to London, everyone has one here!
Anyway, I digress...
Once I'm more fluent in typing and using this app, normal blogging service (and by that I obviously mean moaning) will resume. Hope you are all well, my bloggy friends.

Some secrets are best kept hidden.
I've been with my boyfriend for about six weeks now and he does not, nor will he ever find out about this blog.
I don't mean it in a harsh way, and I will never say anything here about him that I wouldn't say to his face but sometimes, just sometimes, it's nice to have somewhere to vent something.
Like today. I posted a vague tweet earlier in which I said I wanted to go home. Why did I say that? Because yesterday and today I am bloody homesick for Devon and Plymouth. It's not because I'm unhappy here, it's just because I miss it because it's beautiful and calm and I really want to go and sit on a beach right now and then pop to my Grandma's to watch X-Factor.
But even so much as mentioning it in passing and I get a full-blown inquisition and it is then decided that I absolutely must be very depressed or that I am not happy in my relationship.
Actually, I just miss my family and being at home. Nothing personal, no imminent signs of depression and nothing unusual or odd about missing friends and family and being jealous because I can see all my Plymouth friends are going on a night out tonight and I can't go.
Yet I get grilled about it and forced to talk about it for hours, which I don't want to do. It's not a big deal, it really isn't.
So for those moments, I'm glad I have my blog and I will strive to keep this little thing going as long as possible to keep me sane during these exact moments.
If you read this and help me keep this going, then thank you.
In other news, I'm off to the Notting Hill Carnival tomorrow. Any words of advice as to what to check out, let me know, though I'm sure it will be a great day regardless. Can't wait!

My little blog has had a makeover
And doesn't it look cute! Let me know if there are any little blips which need to be ironed out, although looks pretty good to me. Credit to Yellow Savvy Designs, thank you.
Now to start the make-over of my life (ok, a tenuous link but I'll run with it):
To Do (this week)
Now I realise this was a boring blog post for any readers, but if I didn't write it here then I would have forgotten something. Now, off to find some boxes...
Now to start the make-over of my life (ok, a tenuous link but I'll run with it):
To Do (this week)
- Sort out all of my uni folders and box what needs to be kept ready for the loft;
- Sort out my things from the loft and bring them down;
- Box up my books and DVDs;
- Box up all the kitchen things I have;
- Sort out the dumping-ground that are the drawers under my bed using a charity bag and a box;
- Box up all my DVDs (except for my Scrubs boxsets, they are the soundtrack to my boring days);
- Sort out the boxes in my wardrobe, streamline with a bin liner and pack.
Now I realise this was a boring blog post for any readers, but if I didn't write it here then I would have forgotten something. Now, off to find some boxes...
P.S. Enjoy my Tasty Tuesday post below, it's my favourite one so far!

Jumping on the bandwagon.
Everyone seems to be blogging these days. Although I don’t like to think of myself as one to ‘copy’ others, it’s impossible to deny that I am somewhat jumping on the bandwagon. But sometimes, you need somewhere to unravel the goings on in your head, and this is what brought me to seek solace in a public blog, rather than my private 'diary'. I used to blog an awful lot when I was a stereotypical angst-ridden teenager (although I probably shouldn’t lump despression and anorexia into that umbrella) and this was mostly due to loneliness. You see, I wasn’t a popular girl, nor was I pretty or confident. I was at best one of those ‘average’ children, never doing anything bad or good enough to be of any note or worth. It’s taken me a long time to get to this point in my life.
Indeed, I used to spend hours every day daydreaming about what life would be like when I was older. “When I move out”, “when I have a boyfriend” and “when I am at university” were the common structure to my almost obsessive hopes and dreams. It does make me proud, however, to be here now, still sat on the same bed in the same house with the same flaws, but instead, am happy and confident about myself and my life. I think that’s the most amazing thing about how much I’ve changed in my three years at university (and it is this journey to which I attribute most of my change), because I haven’t really changed. The only thing that had to change was my attitude about my life, and rather than wallowing in self pity and waiting for life to happen to me, about a year ago I stepped out into the world and decided that I would make my own future and decide my own fate. I’m now sat here, in my final year at university as an almost qualified primary school teacher with my own class waiting for me on September 7th, single, starting to plan my move to London. My escape is finally nigh, and not because I want to escape my life, but because I want to finally lay the past to rest. I finally have my dream job, in my dream location, with freedom and possibilities the 16-year-old myspace blogger could never have even dreamed of.
So why am I blogging again? It’s to chart the next few years of my life, the ups and the downs, and to explore the new version of myself that I am now and am still yet to become. I’m really looking forward to the next few years and know that it will be everything I want it to be, if I make it mine.
